Livability is the defining factor for any community
looking to sustain itself in this constantly changing world. The
combination of strong and innovative leadership, regional cooperation,
diversity, and excellent design of place and space form a valuable
investment in livability and economic success. Communities that
have the ability to use these local amenities and creative means
to provide opportunity to all people and a vision for the future
are the ones best able to compete on a global stage.

The Cultivating Creative Communities conference
will bring civic and community leaders together to build a new
framework to understand how we can make cities and regions more
livable, equitable, and sustainable places. Our four themes- Amenities,
Creativity, Equity, and Sustainability- together
represent a mix that has not yet been discussed in tandem. Through
a series of plenary sessions, breakout workshops, and off-site
tours, we will foster new combinations of dialogues and equip
as many people as possible with the tools to create success and
opportunity in their own communities all over the world. Participants
will leave the conference with an understanding of how to create
livable places, make those places livable for everyone, and make
those places livable forever.
